UX + App Design
On a tourist destination such as Eleuthera, we’ve noticed that NONE of the restaurant options available have an online ordering platform or app for their product. This leaves one to wonder, how do visitors to the island with no telephone service available for use and no desire to get dressed up to eat out, place food orders?
The Problem
My challenge was to understand the target market of users who have not only utilised restaurant apps in the past but for future users as well, analyse the competitive landscape of the platforms in this category, and to design and develop a seamless, user friendly application.
The Process
For this concept, we worked along side the local heads of French Leave to design a web-based applications for their restaurant. From the beginning onwards, we analysed the competitors in other countries, to get insights and feedback. Working closely with our target groups helped us define what features we needed to create a unique and performance driven web-application, that not only showcased the business itself but also provided a service that, prospective clientele might be interested in. By narrowing the focus on the essentials we were able to craft a clean, well designed application that is not only cohesive with their existing brand but, would also provide a new experience to both their existing and prospective clientele base.
